pam’s last service

12 November 2019

In 1997, two little boys were born in the same hospital three days apart.

in 2nd grade, these two little boys met and made a connection over recess and baseball. Dan & Kenan have been joined at the hip ever since.

Beyond providing a great friend, Pam has given Kenan a second home and a second mom. And as I was so often reminded, much better cooking.
Their friendship became a grace to me because it brought Pam into my world.
Pam is the living embodiment of love, light & laughter seriously tinged with sarcasm, wit and irreverence. Wherever she goes, Pam brings fun and sunshine.

Whether sitting around a dining room table swapping stories or chatting at way so many little league games, getting to spend time in Pam’s presence is an uplifting gift to the soul. I will never forget her energy and enthusiasm leading our Retreat.
I am awed and humbled by her deep core of faith demonstrated in our Friends in Faith prayer group as well as in her life.

In grateful thanks to God for such a person in our lives, I humbly offer the following prayer in closing:

Dear God,
You sent Pam to be a light and a joy to so many.
She blesses us with her warmth & caring.
She raises our hearts with laughter & her ever ready humor.
We thank you for placing her in our lives.
We ask that you give to her what she has given to so many: strength, peace, love, comfort & support.

Be with her always.
Carry our love to her when we cannot be here.
Hold her in your arms as we wish we could.
Sustain & comfort her in dark moments.
Remind her always how much she means to so many.
And as you promised, guard her heart, mind and soul with your peace that surpasses all understanding, the peace that only you can truly provide.
We ask this through Jesus, Amen.
